As many of you may know, Moogfest came to Asheville this year, and it was a huge success! We were able to help out with the Bob Moog Foundation at the Moogaplex. While I was there, it was nice to see some interesting panels including sound sculpting with Richard Devine and a very interesting history of the mini-keyboard, covering most of our favorite synths over the years. Thank you to all the sponsors and those that contributed to the Moog Foundation!

ASHEVILLE-BASED RECORD LABEL TO SHINE OCTOBER 22 



ASHEVILLE N.C., October 13, 2010 - Asheville-based electronic music label Modern Beat Digital celebrates their second year of business, showcasing their local artists performing at the Emerald Lounge Friday, October 22. Performers include the Modern Beat Orchestra, David Edward and Owen Sawyer.

“Over the past two years, we have built a roster of over 25 artists all over the world, experienced consistent growth, and have had our music sought after by international DJ’s and radio hosts,” said David Edward Jensen, president of Modern Beat Digital. “For our second birthday, we are featuring some of our local artists performing at the Emerald Lounge - a great venue for electronic music in Asheville.” 
   


Modern Beat Digital is an independent dance music label that is distributed internationally, with artists in Hungary, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and many other countries across the world, with their head operations team based in Asheville, NC.
   


“This should be a great night for anyone that likes good music, especially if they’re into melodic progressive house, electronica, and vocally-driven dance music,” Jensen said. “We’ll also be giving out some free music, so that’s always good too!”

BEATPORT APPROVES MODERN BEAT DIGITAL FOR Q'4 2010

ASHEVILLE N.C., Sept. 24, 2010 - Modern Beat Digital joins international music retailer Beatport, the recognized leader in electronic dance music downloads for DJs and club music enthusiasts.  

"This is huge news for all of us at Modern Beat Digital. We know that Beatport is the place to be for dance music labels, and that Beatport offers the best selection in electronic music downloads," said David Edward Jensen, president of Modern Beat Digital Records. "We've worked hard to grow our label, artist roster and catalog, and are pleased that we are extending our brand to Beatport.
