In case you wondered where we were last weekend, the president of Modern Beat Productions, David Edward Jensen, joined his fellow Alumna with Team UNCA for the 48 Hour Film Festival in Asheville, North Carolina. Screenings were this week at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Company, and the winners will be announced next week! Thank you to all that helped out.. it was a blast!

After plenty of time in the studio, the Modern Beat Orchestra is ready to release their long-awaited first single from their upcoming album!

The animation effect is achieved by stacking photos. The photos are not manipulated in any way. Each photo was taken individually with a 30 second shutter. I used a flashlight and drew in the air to get the lightdrawing effect. I don't show up in the shots because I stay moving. The actresses show up because they held each pose for the full 30 seconds required for each shot. I'm pretty happy with it, but would love feedback and suggestions. American Remains recounts the life story of James Anse, as told to an itinerant preacher on a hot summer evening.
